Preserve the 'Burg works to preserve St. Petersburg’s incredible sense of place through community outreach and advocacy. On any given day, PTB representatives may meet with city officials, developers, or owners of historic properties to advocate for better preservation laws, place-conscious development, and thoughtful maintenance of our historic homes. Our success relies heavily on the strength of our member base, and we ask you to demonstrate your support for preservation by becoming a member of PTB, making a donation, or sending a message to City Council stating your desire to keep St. Pete special! Making your voice heard is the most important action one take to preserve the 'Burg!
With the construction "boom" in full swing the 'Burg's sense of place is being threatened and more and more neighborhoods have begun discussing the advantages to seeking historic district designation. PTB has worked with a number of these neighborhoods, including Driftwood, Historic Kenwood, Crescent Heights and the Historic Old Northeast. We share our expertise with these neighborhoods and now offer an innovative landmark application fee program that can help applicants pay for the city landmark designation fee.
