Join Preserve the 'Burg for the first program in our 2018 program series, “Unseen St. Pete: Hidden Faces and Unknown Places." While you may not think of the Gulf of Mexico as an unknown place its importance to our community and its historical context are largely an unknown. There is nobody better than Jack Davis to remove the unknown and to shed light on the role the Gulf has played in the American narrative. Davis, always entertaining, is a University of Florida professor in history and sustainability studies. His most recent and award winning book is The Gulf: The Making of an American Sea. You can read up about Davis and his book in this Tampa Bay Times story!
