Its the 10th Anniversary for the best small event on the waterfront - Movies in the Park! The movie evening starts with live music at 6 pm followed by the movie on the big screen at dusk. NOTE: Movies in the Park is moving for Halloween a short distance south from the "regular" North Straub Park venue - The Halloween venue will be outside on the north end of the Museum of Fine Arts building and next to the big banyan tree.Don't forget, Movies in the Park are Free!
We have a fun & special event for Halloween, including a costume contest (for kids and the rest of you) with prizes for the best costumes. And, of course there will be trick or treat treats! The first movie, an animated short will be Scooby Doo and the Scary Scarecrow. This will be followed by the original 1925 silent film version of The Phantom of the Opera. Just like they did in the days of the silent flicks, we will have live music accompany the film. It promises to be a great way to spend Halloween evening for the young and not so young!
PTB is excited to have Vince Di Mura an accomplished concert jazz pianist provide the musical soundtract to accompany the film. Vince is the resident music director and
composer at Princeton University. He is also locally known for his work with American Stage.
As with other movie nights, we suggest you come early to enjoy the live music before the movie and to get your favorite spot! Bring a picnic or purchase food from some of the 'Burg's best food vendors, set up on-site. A limited number of folding chairs will be available, but better yet, bring a blanket or low seat!
