This year marks the 10th season for Preserve the 'Burg's Movies in the
Park, an event many refer to as the best “little” event in the
waterfront parks. This free and fun community gathering, held on Thursday evenings each May and October, is held in celebration of the city's historic downtown waterfront park that was dedicated in 1910!
Bring family and friends to enjoy FREE music and movies each Thursday evening in May on St. Petersburg’s beautiful downtown waterfront in North Straub Park (400 Bayshore Dr., NE). The fun begins with live local music at 7 pm and movies at dark.
Movie titles will be announced April 3 at the Movie Announcement Party, an event that occurs prior to each movie month in the courtyard of The Ale & the Witch. Join us at the party, prizes awarded to those who guess the movies to be shown and be among the first to know the movie choices for this May!
You will probably want to come to out to Movies early to choose a choice spot and to sit back and enjoy the beautiful evening while listening to live, local music before the start of the movie. Bring a picnic or you can purchase food & drink (including beer & wine) from some of the best of the 'Burg's food vendors! Bring a blanket or low seat, a limited number of folding chairs will be available. A great way to get to Movies in the Park is on bicycle. You can either use a Coast Bike Share bicycle (a bike share hub is across the street from North Straub Park) or use your own bicycle and park it with the secure, on-site bicycle valet parking offered by Coast.
Movies are free! However, pay-what-you-can donations are appreciated.
SAVE THE DATES: May 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30! (Another Five Thursday Movie Month!)
Thank you to our past community sponsors that make it possible for Movies in the Park to be FREE! Next time you visit a sponsor be sure to tell them thanks for supporting Movies in the Park!May 2018 Movies in the Park Sponsors:
