On July 15, 2010 City Council held a public hearing and discussed moving forward with initiating the Mirror Lake historic district application. Leading up to the hearing, Council received more than 400 emails in support of starting the district designation process. At the multi-hour public hearing, individuals spoke both for and against district designation. City Council ultimately voted unanimously to continue their discussion to October 14. A thumbs up to Council members Driscoll, Rice and Figgs-Sanders who spoke at length in support of starting the district process.
